Rebecca “Becky” Thomas, 78, of Thompson #2, passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. She was born in Uniontown, PA on August 31, 1948, A daughter of the late Michael and Helen Cherban Dirda.
Becky was a life-long member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Church in Brownsville. She also worked at the church and made perogie for over 30 years. She dedicated her life to her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Thomas; her brother, Joseph Dirda; and her sister, Helen Pearce.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Michael Thomas, Sr.; her daughter, Denise (Steve) Grzesiak; grandson, Michael Thomas, Jr. and fiancee Allison Neil; granddaughter, Abigayle Thomas; sister, Mary Sopp; and ex-husband, Charles Thomas.
A Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Nicholas Byzantine Church, Brownsville, PA on Saturday, November 7, at 10 a.m. Everyone please meet at the church. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery. www.dearthfh.com
