Mary Martha Goodwin Hare, 79, of Uniontown, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026. in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 18, 1947 in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Russell G. Goodwin and Mary Ruth DeVault Goodwin.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Sutton, Gladys Sutton and Naomi Goodwin.
Marty was a 1965 graduate of Fairchance- Georges High School and a 1969 graduate of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church and a member of the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing Alumni.
Most importantly, Mary was a beloved wife, sister, mother and Mom Mom.
Left to cherish Marty’s memory are her husband, Thomas Phillip Hare; sons, Jason Hare (Carolyn) of Pittsburgh and Jonathan Hare (Bree) of Gunnison, Colo.; brother, Russell N. Goodwin (Melanie) of Fairchance; grandchildren, Michael, James, Emmett and Austen Hare; and her loving dog, Rosie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where family and friends will be received Thursday, October 8, from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the funeral home Friday, October 9, from 10 until the time of a service celebrating Mary’s life at 11 a.m., with Brian Casey officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
