Lani L. Harper
Uniontown
Mrs. Lani L. Harper, 79, of Uniontown, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2026, in her home, with her loving family by her side after a lengthy illness. She was born in Uniontown November 24, 1946 to the late Robert A. and Evelyn L. Baden Fullem.
Lani graduated from South Union High School, Class of 1964. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church.
Lani was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated herself to raising her daughters and caring for her husband. She took great pride in her home, making it warm, welcoming, and a beautiful place for her family. She especially loved decorating for the holidays, which brought joy to those around her. Her home was a reflection of her loving heart, and the care that she put into it created wonderful memories that her family will always cherish. Lani also had a special love for flowers, appreciating their beauty and the happiness they brought to everyday life.
After raising her daughters, Lani worked part-time at Hallmark Card Store and later Hixenbaugh’s Drugstore.
Lani and her husband, Jim, shared a lifetime of love and memories. In May 2027, they would have celebrated 60 years of marriage. During the last several years of her life, Jim lovingly devoted himself to caring for her, showing his love and commitment through his constant care and dedication. His devotion was a true reflection of the lasting bond they shared.
Lani was blessed with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who called her Mammy, and the name became special to everyone who knew and loved her. It was a name that reflected the love, warmth, and place she held in so many hearts.
Lani had a special love for Neil Diamond and enjoyed listening to his music and attending his concerts. His music brought her happiness and created lasting memories. Whenever a Neil Diamond song plays, her family and Jim will have a special reminder of Lani and the love and special memories they shared together.
Lani is survived by her loving husband, James Harper of Uniontown; two daughters, Kimberly Riggar and husband George, Kristi Bell and husband Donald, Jr., both of Uniontown; five grandchildren, Alexis Riggar-Ferrari and husband Gary of Uniontown, Shane Riggar and wife Rebekah of Uniontown, Madison Riggar and fiance Mason McManus of Uniontown, Nicole Bell-Mascaro and husband John Anthony of Pittsburgh, and Brandon Bell and fiancee Kelcie Grimm of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Cruz and Bridger Ferrari; two siblings, Robert Fullem and wife Linda of the Villages, Fla., and Carol Dulla and husband Brian of Gambrills, Md.; brothers-in-law, sisters- in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Fullem.
Although our family was not ready to say goodbye and our hearts wished we could keep her with us longer, we find comfort in knowing that she is now at peace. Letting go is never easy when someone is loved so deeply. We will miss her more than words can say, but we will carry her love and memories in our hearts forever.
Visitation for Lani will be held in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, 603 N. Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, PA 15401, Monday, October 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday, October 20, at 11 a.m. Interment in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
