Jason Daniel Chess, 49, of Uniontown, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 after a lengthy illness. He was born April 18, 1977, in Morgantown, W.Va.
Preceding him in death were his father, Daniel Chess;and grandparents, Raymond and Kathryn Chess, and George and Gertrude Smalley.
Surviving are his mother, Susan Gentile and husband, Anthony Gentile; sister, Amy Walters and husband, Dennis Walters; niece and nephews, Tristan, Mya and Dan; many loving family members; and his very close friend, Shawn Holmes and family.
Jason was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to his Funeral Mass to be held on Friday, September 11, at 10 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
