Mary F. Sikina Kubiak, 96, of Lemont Furnace, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Mary was born January 29, 1930, to the late Michael and Mary Sikina. She graduated from North Uniontown High School in 1948.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Kubiak, Jr.; and siblings, Veronica Sikina, Edward Sikina, Ann Digga, Margaret Dockman, and Joseph Sikina.
Mary was a lifelong member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and St. Mary Nativity Church, where she was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the Ladies of Charity, and the Golden Club. She was also a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and the Uniontown Business and Professional Women’s Club. She served on the Pastoral and Finance Council of St. Cecilia Church.
Mary was employed by Dudley Electric and Machine Company for many years and after retirement worked at Uniontown Newspapers.
She is survived by her brother, Bernard Sikina of Lemont Furnace; nieces and nephews, Diane (Michael) Hrebenar of Uniontown, Steve (Laura) Dockman, Michael (Diana) Dockman, Mark (Deidre) Dockman, Mary Jo (John) McCormick of Ohio, and their families; Frank Digga of Florida; and lifelong friends, Ann and Joseph Marshall, who visited her weekly in her final years.
Mary’s family extends its thanks to the staff of Peroni Personal Care Home and OSPTA for their wonderful and compassionate care during her final years and months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 17, at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Mary Nativity Church. Private Interment at Saint Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary Church or the Ladies of Charity Children’s Closet, c/o the Roman Catholic Churches of Southern Fayette, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the GATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 136 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown.
