Mary A. Ignotz, 80, of Allison, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, following a brief illness.
She was born in Republic, on September 12, 1946, to the late Frank and Kathryn Golombiewski Mazurek.
Mary was a 1964 graduate of Redstone High School and her career took her to Michigan and New York, where she worked in banking and educational institutions including the University of Pittsburgh and Cornell University.
Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years, George G. Ignotz as well as all eight of her siblings: sisters, Loretta Skovran (Michael deceased), Rose Bayza (Samuel) and Jean Gadd (Frank deceased); brothers: John (Cyndi), Frank (JoAnn), Joseph Kaz and Richard (Kathy). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday until 9:30 a.m., when a Panachida service will be held, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville with the Reverend Father James Ragan as celebrant. Interment in Redstone Cemetery.
A Parastas Service will be held on Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
