Thomas Edward Pasterick, 69, of Perryopolis, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born April 30, 1957 in Monessen, the son of Rudolph A. and Joyce Ann Schoenholtz Vernet.
Tom was a proud U.S. Navy veteran having served in Vietnam. He was Catholic by faith.
He had worked for many years at Super Value as a warehouse man and had been a highway heavy equipment operator.
His passions in life were hunting, fishing, gardening, carpentry and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, John Edward and Helen Thompson Pasterick.
Tom is survived by his wife, Beatriz Ortiz Pasterick; his children, Laura Lil “Lily” Ortiz Pasterick, Santos Tomas Ortiz Pasterick, Deion Ray Ortiz Pasterick, April Lynn Pasterick and an adopted son, Thomas Locke (Christina); twin brother, John Pasterick (Patty); along with his sisters, Deborah Vernet Bergstedt (Robert), Joyann Vernet Neil (Danny), and Michelle Pasterick Pascoe (Charles); brothers, Robert Vernet and Michael Pasterick; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday, September 21, from 4 until 7 p.m., when a service will be held, in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Avenue, Derry.
Private interment will be made at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
