Joy Arlene Craig, also affectionately known as “Reuben”, passed peacefully Saturday, September 19, 2026 and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Joy had been a resident of Uniontown her whole life and was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harry and Mabel Davison; brother, Jim Davison; and grandson, Marshall Craig.
She is survived by her brother, Harry Davison; her son, Duke Craig; daughter and son-in-law, Marti and Mark Caskey; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Maya and Spenser Smith; granddaughter, Melissa Caskey; and beloved dog, Fritz.
Joy was a lifetime member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a devoted nurse who began nursing in hospitals and retired as the nurse at Laurel Highlands High School.
Joy loved reading, traveling and gardening and it was not uncommon for neighbors to stop and complement her on her beautiful flowers.
Joy’s joyful personality shined bright for 88 years and she will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, where the family will receive friends Thursday, September 24, from 4 until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, September 25, in Calvary United Methodist Church, 34 Clark Street, Uniontown, from 10 until 11 a.m., when a service celebrating Joy’s life will be held, with Pastor Ryan Washabaugh officiating. Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
