Elaine Williamson, 78, of Dilliner, passed on to her home in glory on Thursday, September 24, 2026, from the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born in Morgantown on October 6, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Mildred Sicklesmith Eggers.
A 1966 graduate of Mapletown High School, Elaine was a lifelong, faithful member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner, where she volunteered to clean the church for more than 20 years. She had previously worked at the TwinTwister ice cream stand in Dilliner, and also was a cook for several day care centers in Morgantown.
The best wife and mother a person could ask for, Elaine is survived by her high school sweetheart, George H. Williamson, whom she married on May 6, 1967; a son, Michael Williamson and wife, Crystal of Point Marion; three granddaughters: Brooke, Morgan and Karen Williamson; two great-grandchildren, Elena and Waylon George Decker; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was loved by all who knew her, and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her son, George E. Williamson on January 25, 2021; two brothers, Allen and Duane Eggers; and a sister, Hannavee Sholtis.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday; and from noon to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Wednesday, in the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Dilliner, with the Reverends Gale Cobb and Kenneth Haines officiating. Interment follows in the Fairview Cemetery, Taylortown.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be offered to the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, c/o Neila Vernon, 443, Dilliner Hill Road, Diliner, PA 15327.
