Jeffrey Albert Smith, 53, of Newell, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026, as a result of a work accident.
Born January 16, 1973, in Uniontown, he was the son of Gary V. and Karen Lee Kirkpatrick Smith of Perryopolis.
Raised in Newell, he was a graduate of Frazier High School in 1991. A lifelong resident of Newell, Jeff was a member of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church. He worked on the management teams for the Pennsylvania Turnpike McDonalds, Kings Restaurant and Penn West’s Chick-fil-A before joining the Cleveland Cliffs Mill, Monessen, where he worked as a Machine Operator.
Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family, watching Steeler and Pirate games, boating, camping, hunting, playing the lottery, and eating wings and things too spicy for anyone else to eat.
On July 30, 2005, he married Angela C. McAnallen Smith, where they resided in Newell for all their years together. He is also survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Zachary V. and Layna Smith, and Aaron J. Smith; two grandchildren, Delilah and Grayson Smith; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew V. and Pam Smith; sister, Jessica L. Smith and partner, Bart Buttermore; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie and Dan McAnallen; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kelly Roddy and Eric Johnson, Lisa and Justen Post; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim McAnallen, Donald and Stephanie McAnallen; nieces and nephews: Kevin and Talon Smith, Kara and James Stewart, Cameron Post, Elias McAnallen, Daven McAnallen, Henry McAnallen, Abram McAnallen, Rowen and Auden McAnallen, great-nieces and nephews: Ariana, Camryn and Bryson Shaffer and Goddaughter, Keira Roddy. Jeff was also Blessed with many friends who are stunned by his loss. He will be greatly missed and unconditionally loved forever by those he left behind.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 1, at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, Family Owned and Operated, 191 Liberty Street, Perryopolis, 724-736-2515. Funeral services will be held at the Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10 a.m. Friday, with the Pastor Joshua Scully of Little Redstone Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will take place in Bowman – Flatwoods Cemetery.
