WPIAL playoff games reset
Five local basketball teams were to be in action Monday night, but heavy snowfalls forced the cancellation of all first round WPIAL girls and boys playoff games. The WPIAL has rescheduled all the games at the same times and sites for Wednesday.
In boys games, Connellsville will face Norwin at Gateway at 8 p.m. Waynesburg Central travels to Upper St. Clair for an 8 p.m. with Moon and Carmichaels plays Monaca in Class A action at Thomas Jefferson at 8 p.m.
The Laurel Highland Fillies will play Hempfield at Ringgold with a 6:30 p.m. start. The Geibel Catholic girls will be the first game of a local doubleheader at Upper St. Clair when the Lady Gators face Farrell at 6:30 p.m.
The Uniontown boys will open their quest for a Class AAA title with a quarterfinal round game on Saturday at a site and time to be determined. The opponent will be determined Wednesday night with the winner of Hampton and South Allegheny facing the Red Raiders.
