WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) – Yanick Lehoux had a goal and an assist as Manchester defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3-1 in the American Hockey League Sunday. Manchester got goals from Dustin Brown, Noah Clarke and Lehoux in a seven-minute stretch of the second period to break open a scoreless game.

Brown slammed the rebound of a Dennis Grebeshkov shot past goalie Marc-Andre Fleury on the power play at 6:21. Clarke took a backhand pass from Lehoux from behind the net and lifted it over Fleury at 10:11. Lehoux scored on a slap shot from the left half-boards at 13:07.

The Penguins made the score 3-1 on a power-play goal from Ramzi Abid at 7:32 of the third period. Abid took a pass from Colby Armstrong in the high slot and snapped a shot that beat goalie Mathieu Garon high to the glove side.

Fleury stopped 16-of-19 shots in his first loss in regulation since Oct. 24.

The game marked a return to Wilkes-Barre for Monarchs winger Tom Kostopoulos, who spent the first five years of his pro career in the Penguins organization and is the team’s all-time leader in games played, goals and points.
