RB Kuhn among six Steelers players released
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Running back John Kuhn, who set four Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference records at NCAA Division II Shippensburg, was among six players released Friday by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Also waived were punter Mike Barr, offensive tackle Ulish Booker, wide receiver Chris Collins, cornerback Janssen Patton and linebacker Ronald Stanley. Kuhn and Stanley were the only rookies.
The Steelers must make 12 more roster cuts by 6 p.m. Saturday, though they can later sign up to eight rookies or first-year players to their practice squad.
The 6-foot, 255-pound Kuhn carried six times for six yards in the Steelers’ four exhibition games after gaining 4,685 yards and scoring 53 touchdowns at Shippensburg. Stanley, also a rookie free agent, played at Michigan State.
