Cards hammer out 10-4 win over Giants SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Adam Wainwright homered in his first major league at-bat and pitched three innings of relief to earn the win in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 10-4 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, when Barry Bonds took the day off.
Albert Pujols singled twice but stayed at 23 home runs a day after hitting a three-run shot for his fourth homer in five games for the Cardinals.
Bonds had the day off after starting 13 of the last 14 games and five straight. His home fans are still waiting to see his next milestone home run – 715.

MIAMI, Fla. – Joe Borchard and Miguel Cabrera hit three-run homers and the Marlins roughed up Greg Maddux to complete a three-game sweep.

NEW YORK – David Wright homered for the third straight game and then drove in the tiebreaking run with a seventh-inning single as New York came from behind to defeat Philadelphia.

CINCINNATI – Carlos Lee homered for the first time in 14 games, a two-run shot that helped Milwaukee salvage the finale of a three-game series.

MINNEAPOLIS – C.C. Sabathia made it look easy on the mound with a six-hitter, Casey Blake homered twice and the Cleveland Indians frustrated the Minnesota Twins 11-0 Wednesday.
