Three Roaring Lions place fourth at Jamestown Community College Open
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus, wrestling had three wrestlers place fourth on Sunday at the Jamestown Community College Open.
Belle Vernon graduate and freshman Brock Godzin took fourth at 184 pounds. Teammate and fellow freshman Lucas Baranski, who competed for Southmoreland in high school, was fourth at 133. Cody Maurin was fourth at 285.
Mike Perdomo wrestled at 141 and Penn State Fayette’s Pedro Tavarez went 1-2 at 149.
The Roaring Lions were without two of their stars, as Uniontown graduate and senior Nathan Spinetti sat out due to injury, as did junior and former Connellsville standout Ethan Kenney.
Spinetti was recently honored as the athlete of the week for his performance at the Apprentice School’s Builder Invitational where the Lions’ 285-pounder finished in first place to improve his season record to 11-2.
The Roaring Lions are coached by former Uniontown head coach Jerry Simon and assisted by Mike Simon, who also led the Red Raiders, and former Connellsville star wrestler and assistant coach Kyle Martin.
