Yough 4, McGuffey 0 – Justine Appolonia was involved in every Yough goal Monday night as the Lady Cougars shut out visiting McGuffey, 4-0, in Section 2-AAA action.

Appolonia scored the second goal of the first half off an assist from Hadley Sleith at 15:16. Sleith opened the scoring at 28:20 from an Appolonia assist.

Natalie Vilcheck scored at 6:05 of the second half and Sleith netted her second goal with 2:30 to go, both from Appolonia assists.

Sara Krofcheck did not face a shot in the Yough net. McGuffey’s Jordan Sekora made eight saves for the Lady Highlanders (1-7-0, 2-8-0).

Yough (6-1-0, 9-1-0) hosts Brownsville Wednesday night in a key section match.
