Ringgold quartet win county track meet titles
Ringgold’s Abigael Nicolas, Cael Konek, Daniel Petersen, and Maddox Suss all won county titles Saturday in the Washington Greene County Championship held at Peters Twp.
Nicolas cleared five feet to win the high jump, placed fourth in the long jump (16-1¼), and was ninth in the 100.
Konek finished first in the 800 with a time of 2:06.29. Petersen won gold in the 3,200 in 10:36.02. Suss won the discus with a top throw of 132-11.
Suss also won the bronze medal in the shot put with a top effort of 39-6.
The Lady Rams’ Lily Brenneman won the silver medal in the 1,600 with a time of 5:35.89 and was fifth in the 800 in 2:33.92.
Willow Leach (7, 400, 1:05.38), Bella Massey (7, 400, 2:35.96), 1,600 relay (6, 4:40.98), 3,200 relay (2, 10:35.69), Alexa Jolly (8, javelin, 91-6), and Angelina Massey (2, shot put, 31-5) also had top-8 finishes for the Lady Rams.
Clever Adom (6, 100, 11.84), Szyair Dungee (8, 200, 24.68), Dawson Mancini (7, 400, 55.63), Rider Kuch (6, mile, 5:19.71), Andrew Bruce (8, 3,200, 11:36.85), 400 relay (5, 46.41), and 1,600 relay (3, 3:54.34) placed in the top eight for the Rams.
Bentworth’s Jesse Laskey won the silver medal in the mile run with a time of 6:05.07. Teammate Amber Sallee was eighth in the 3,200 (14:24.36) and 13th in the 1,600 (6:41.77).
The Bearcats’ Alexander Rusilko placed sixth in the shot put with a throw of 37-6.
California’s Ella Neil made the medals podium in the triple jump (3, 33-1) and high jump (4, 4-10). Reagan Gillen was third in the long jump (16-4¾) and sixth in the high jump (4-6). Sophia Sholock was 10th in the shot put (25-9½).
The Trojans’ Carter Kent won the silver medal in the 1,600 run in 4:50.24 and was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:10.78. Niamh McClaflin placed fifth in the 1,600 (4:57.79) and sixth in the 800 (2:10.78).
California’s Lee Qualk was fifth in the long jump (20-5¾), eighth in the 100 (11.92) and ninth in the 200 (24.78). Noah Neil placed fifth in the 110 high hurdles (18.06) and was 10th in the high jump (5-6). Christian Ross was fifth in the triple jump (38-3½). Dylan Henry (discus, 118-1) and Landon Abercrombie (javelin, 143-0) both finished fourth, while Fred Sherman was fifth in the javelin (140-8).
Beth-Center’s MaKenza Spangler won the bronze medal in the discus with a throw of 97-7 and placed 15th in the shot put (24-4). The 3,200 relay was seventh with a time of 12:24.86 and Emma Shashura placed 10th in the high jump (4-4).
The Bulldogs’ Ryder Roule was third in the mile run in 5:07.43. Jason Zellie was seventh (5:20.51) and Geoffrey Douglas placed eighth (5:20.58) in the mile. Ryan Minerd finished eighth in the javelin with a throw of 128-6.
Beth-Center’s 400 relay finished seventh in 47.89 seconds and the 800 relay placed seventh in 1:57.63. The 1,600 relay won the silver medal in 3:50.22. The 3,200 relay was fifth in 9:30.66.
Waynesburg Central’s Mason Schroyer won the silver medal in the pole vault after clearing 12 feet.
Rykan Gustafson (3, discus, 118-11), Jeffrey Blair (7, discus, 105-11), Chase Fox (6, 200, 24.32), Ace Litwinovich (3, 110 high hurdles, 17.43; 300 intermediate hurdles, 45.08), Zack Andrews (4, 300 intermediate hurdles, 43.62), 400 relay (46.11), 800 relay (4, 1:51.30), 1,600 relay (4, 3:55.72), 3,200 relay (6, 9:40.45), Jack Ricciuti (5, high jump, 5-10), Aidan Pester (6, pole vault, 10-0), and Duncan Barto (8, shot put, 36-2½) also finished in the top eight for Waynesburg.
The Lady Raiders’ Brynn Kirby placed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 101-3 and eighth in the pole vault (6-6).
Waynesburg’s Lexi Rush (6, high jump, 4-6) and Cheyenne Pierson (6, discus, 85-2) also medaled. Pierson placed ninth in the shot put.
The Lady Raiders’ Lake Litwinovich was eighth in the long jump (14-8¾) and 10th in the 300 intermediate hurdles. Reiley Shultz was 10th in both the mile and 3,200.
