Leopards’ Brown dominates his way to MyHouse Trojan Wars championship
Belle Vernon’s Elijah Brown dominated the field in winning the 215-pound championship on Sunday in the MyHouse Trojan Wars tournament at Chambersburg High School.
Brown earned a 15-0 technical fall in 1:01 over ELCO’s Kyle Miller in the finals. The junior improved to 14-0 this season and 93-18 in his career. All of Brown’s victories this year have come via pin or technical fall. He has secured seven pins and seven technical falls.
The Pitt recruit had three technical falls and two pins on his way to the MyHouse title.
The Leopards’ Deydon Soto earned a 8-1 decision at 139 to place third. Teammate Kole Doppelheuer recorded a fall in 3:23 to take seventh at 152.
Belle Vernon (1-1, 1-1) returns to action Wednesday in a Class 3A Section 7 dual meet at West Mifflin (0-1, 4-4) that is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The Leopards will also compete in the Westmoreland County Coaches’ Association (WCCA) tournament on Friday and Saturday at Greensburg Salem.
