Lady Raiders earn share of third place with win

Uniontown was already playoff bound with at least a fourth-place finish sewed up in the Section 2-4A softball standings.
The Lady Raiders wound up moving a spot up into a third-place tie with West Mifflin on Monday with a 9-2 victory at Oakland Catholic in their section finale.
Katie White was 4 for 4 with a triple, double and RBI and winning pitcher Alivia Noah allowed one earned run on eight hits with three walks and eight strikeouts for Uniontown (7-5, 9-5).
Lauren White had two hits and an RBI and Juliet White added a double and an RBI for the Lady Raiders, who also got a single and an RBI each from Sincere Dunlap, Emmaleigh Noah and Alivia Noah.
LAUREL HIGHLANDS 4, CHARLEROI 3 – Kayla Howell was 3 for 4 with an RBI and three stolen bases as the Mustangs edged the Lady Cougars (5-10) in a non-section game.
Starting pitcher Payton Senge struck out four while allowing one hit and no earned runs in two innings of work for Laurel Highlands (9-4). Winning pitcher Izzy Coleman finished up from there, surrendering one earened run on nine hits with one walk and six strikeouts in five innings.
BELLE VERNON 14, LATROBE 9 – Brooke Hugland was 4 for 5 with a double and three RBIs and Paisley Hibner drove in two runs with a home run and a single as the Lady Leopards defeated the Lady Wild Cats (9-7) in a non-section game.
Addy Newman also had four hits with a double for Belle Vernon (8-9), which also got three hits and a pair of RBIs from Ava Jones.
FRAZIER 17, JEFFERSON-MORGAN 2 – Grace Polkabla had three hits and four RBIs and Emme Travalena knocked in three runs with two doubles and a single as the Lady Commodores rolled past the Lady Rockets in a non-section game between playoff teams.
Morgan Fisher doubled, singled and drove in two runs, Emma Essington had two singles and an RBI and winning pitcher Addison Hiles doubled and singled for Frazier (9-7), which also got a single and two RBIs from Malayna Burton and a single and an RBI apiece from Jayana Ciferno and Zoey Zurenski.
Addyson Teagarden hit a two-run homer for Jefferson-Morgan (11-5).
MCGUFFEY 4, WEST GREENE 0 – Julianna Ward had a double and two RBIs as the Lady Highlanders (7-5) blanked the Lady Pioneers (11-5) in a non-section game.
Madelyn Roberts had two of West Greene’s three hits. Losing pitcher Caitlin Whyte surrendered two earned runs on four hits with four walks and four strikeouts.
CONNELLSVILLE 18, BETHEL PARK 11 – Cali Leichliter homered, doubled and drove in four runs and Kaylee Roadman doubled, singled twice and had five RBIs as the Lady Falcons (6-6. 10-6) out-slugged Bethel Park (2-10. 4-13) in a Section 4-5A game.
Addison Smith added two hits and three RBIs for Connellsville.
BENTWORTH 10, WAYNESBURG CENTRAL 0 – Sydney Gonglik had a home run, triple, single and two RBIs and fired a two-hit shutout as the first-place and unbeaten Lady Bearcats (9-0, 15-0) cruised past the Lady Raiders (3-7, 6-8) in a five-inning Section 4-2A game.
Bentworth also got a home run and three RBIs from Addison McVicker.
Gina Tedrow and Eva Pester had the lone hits for Waynesburg.
SOUTH PARK 15, CALIFORNIA 0 – Madyson Morton had the only hit for the Lady Trojans (0-14) in a four-inning, non-section loss to the Lady Eagles (15-0).
TRINITY 14, SOUTHMORELAND 0 – Abigail Grabiak doubled but the Lady Scotties (3-13) fell to the Lady Hillers (15-3) ion a non-section game.
