McConnell, Barnyak star as Lady Mikes roll to victory

Carys McConnell was 3 for 3 with three doubles and four RBIs and Bailey Barnyak threw a three-inning perfect game as Carmichaels romped over Monessen, 21-0, in a non-section softball game Tuesday.

McConnell now has over 100 hits, runs and RBIs in her career at Carmichaels (13-3).

Barnyak retired all nine batters she faced on strikeouts and added two hits and two RBIs.

Kenlee Machesky homered, doubled and drove in three runs for the Lady Mikes, who also got a single and two RBIs from both Ke’Lani Chun and Avery Voithofer.

The Lady Greyhounds fell to 5-9.

CONNELLSVILLE 3, MOUNT PLEASANT 2 – Molly Greenwalt smashed a two-run homer in a three-run first inning and the host Lady Falcons (11-6) hung on from there to defeat the Lady Vikings in a non-section game.

Aubrie Keslar had two hits and an RBI for Mount Pleasant (13-2), which also got two hits apiece from Jenna Whipkey and Kendra Brunson.

Tough-luck losing pitcher Danica Trainer allowed just three hits and three unearned runs with one walk and four strikeouts.

JEFFERSON-MORGAN 6, ALBERT GALLATIN 4 – Gabby Marmie was 4 for 4 with four doubles as the Lady Rockets (12-5) knocked off the Lady Colonials (1-15) in a non-section game.

Jenna Myers had three hits and two RBIs for Albert Gallatin.

KEYSTONE OAKS 11, UNIONTOWN 2 – Nina Buckley had three hits and three RBIs and Myla Zaborowski also knocked in three runs as the Lady Golden Eagles triumphed over the Lady Raiders (9-6) in a non-section game.

Emmaleigh Noah was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI for Uniontown, which also got a double and an RBI from Lauren White and a double from Juliet White.
