Mikes open golf season with win over Brownsville

Carmichaels’ Eli Hastings and Connor Lapana both turned in a 4-over 42 to tie for medalist honors as the Mikes opened their season with a win over Brownsville, 236-271, in a Section 3-2A boys golf match at Nemacolin Country Club on Friday.
Jayden Kerley shot a 47 for Carmichaels which also got a 51 from Anthony Post and a 54 from Chase Ankrom.
Ava Rohland topped the Falcons with a 49 and was followed by Hunter McDonald (53), Adam Vojacek (54), Dominic Capan 57) and Connor Brown (58).
MOUNT PLEASANT 212, SOUTHMORELAND 228 – Hunter Snyder and Trever Gonofsky each carded a 39 to help lead the Vikings past the Scotties in a Section 2-2A match.
Quinn Painter (43), Ezra Bowman (45) and Austyn Gross (46) completed the scoring for Mount Pleasant.
The Scotties’ Brady Grabiak earned medalist honors with a 37. He was followed by Nick Lubecky (43), Gray Moyer (45), Cooper Kaylor (51) and Brendon Geho (52).
SETON LASALLE 201, FRAZIER 211 – Alex Fellon shot a 37 and Luca Piscitelli had a 38 to lead the Rebels past the Commodores in a Section 3-2A match at Mount Lebanon Golf Course.
Caden Biddle and Garrett Seich led the way for Frazier with a 40 and 41 respectively, and Tyler Jerico and John Sinchar both shot 43. Logan Solomon turned in a 44.
GIRLS GOLF
GREENSBURG CENTRAL CATHOLIC 193, MOUNT PLEASANT 203 – Kennedy Kelly shot a 43 as the Lady Centurions knocked off the Lady Vikings in a Section 1-2A match.
Payton Hassler (45), Betsabe Chapman (52) and Pressley Kelly (53) also scored for GCC.
Ally Christner shot a 45 for Mount Pleasant and was followed by Morgan Miller (46), Victoria Tepper (50) and Layla Gratzinger (62).
