Frazier golf team uses balanced scoring to beat Geibel

Garrett Seich earned medalist honors with a 39 and Caden Biddle, Logan Solomon and John Sinclair each shot 40 as Frazier’s balanced scoring helped it claim a Section 8-2A boys golf victory over Geibel Catholic at Linden Hall on Tuesday.
Rounding out the scoring for the Commodores (2-3, 2-3) was Tyler Jerico who carded a 42.
John Hess also shot 40 to pace the Gators and was followed by Alice Popovich and Michael Novotny, who each turned in a 48, Mason Speeney (53) and Troy Hoffer (55).
CONNELLSVILLE 210, BELLE VERNON 220 – Braydon Rockwell and Owen Show each fired a 40 to share medalist honors as the Falcons knocked off the host Leopards in a Section 2-3A match at the Cedarbrook Red Course.
Wade Bryner was one stroke back with a 41, Hunter Hughes was close behind with a 42 and Santo Crucio capped the scoring for Connellsville (1-2, 1-3) with a 47.
Gino Scalise topped Belle Vernon (0-4, 0-5) with 42 and was followed by Luke Edwards (43), Ryder Schmidt (44), Zach Plymire (45) and Maddox Ceccarelli (46).
ELIZABETH FORWARD 197, ALBERT GALLATIN 219 – The Warriors’ Aaron Didjuneas garnered medalist honors with a 35 in a Section 2-3A win over the Colonials at Duck Hollow Golf Club.
Luke Boyer was next for EF with a 39 and was followed by Dom Conato and Julian Dredocik (40) and Nico Cicci (41).
Garrett Snyder shot a 41 and Tyler Felio and Gianni Paoli both carded a 42 to lead the way for Albert Gallatin, which also got a 44 from Logan Diamond and a 50 from Cami Williams.
GIRLS GOLF
MOUNT PLEASANT 237, LIGONIER VALLEY 250 – Morgan Miller took medalist honors with a 49 in the Lady Vikings’ Section 1-2A victory over Ligonier Valley.
Ally Christner shot a 58, Layla Gratzinger shot a64 and Jacklynn Schendel added a 66 for Mount Pleasant.
Haley Robertson and Sarah Skovira had 61s for the Lady Rams and Ruby Smith and Emma Moser both shot 64.
GIRLS TENNIS
CONNELLSVILLE 4, SOUTHMORELAND 1 – The Lady Falcons wins from Rylee Dreves at No. 2 singles and Natasha Sickles at No. 3 singles on their way to a non-section victory over the Lady Scotties.
Connellsville’s Allison Johnson and Aubrie Skiles won at No. 1 doubles and Elliott DeBolt and Gabryel Crist triumphed at No. 2 doubles.
NORWIN 4, MOUNT PLEASANT 1 – The Lady Vikings’ No. 2 doubles team picked up its lone win in a non-section loss to the Lady Knights with Chloe Zelmore and Claire Reese teaming up for an 8-6 victory.
