Frazier earned a wild card spot into the WPIAL Class A football playoffs on Saturday to give star quarterback Brady Secrest at least one more game in his record-breaking career.

The Commodores fell to visiting Avella, 48-20, on Friday night to miss out on third place in the Tri-County South Conference and an automatic postseason berth, but found out a day later they were in the field.

Frazier (5-5) is the 16th seed and has the daunting task of going to Washington this Friday night to take on the top-seeded Prexies (9-1), coached by Albert Gallatin graduate Mike Bosnic.

Washington was the Black Hills Conference champion.

Secrest completed 15 of 30 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns and added 31 rushing yards and another TD in the loss to the Eagles.

Secrest completed 121 of 229 passes during the regular season for 1,912 passing yards and 23 touchdowns, putting him over the 4,000-yard mark for his career to set the school record.

“Brady has had an incredible career here, especially the last two years with us,” Frazier coach Tony Battaglini said. “Last year we didn’t ask him to do as much as we are this year. Last season we were able to rely on our run game a little more.

“This year we’ve pretty much put everything on Brady. He’s the heart and soul of our team. If we score it’s usually because of something Brady is doing, whether he’s throwing the ball or running it.

“We have a lot of good complimentary pieces. He can’t do it without good receivers. But it all centers around Brady.”

Secrest also threw his 50th career touchdown pass on Friday night and now has a combined 68 TDs passing and rushing, both also Frazier records.
