Beth-Center’s offense continued to rack up points in Week Two of the high school football season as the Bulldogs out-scored Riverview, 48-32, in a Saturday afternoon non-conference victory.
As a result, B-C has three players in the top 10 of the Herald-Standard Touchdown Club standings which tabulates scoring among local players.
DeSean Whipkey had touchdown runs of 6, 3 and 2 yards in tallying 18 points to move ahead of Waynesburg Central quarterback Teagan Crouse and into the lead with a total of 32 points.
Enzo Brown got into the end zone on a 5-yard run and a 38-yard fumble return for 12 points and is now tied for second along with Crouse and Mount Pleasant’s Tristan Wtorkiewicz with 24 on the season.
Dan Duncan snagged TD passes of 25 from Chase Bebout and 68 yards from Brody Bebout for 12 points to give him 18 on the year as he moved into a four-way tie for eighth place, joining Laurel Highlands’ Jonah Coleman, Uniontown’s Marcus Evans and Waynesburg’s Jack Ricciuti.
Beth-Center, under second-year coach Tim Trump, is now 2-0 and has scored 82 points.
There are four undefeated local teams after two weeks. In addition to the Bulldogs, Uniontown, Mount Pleasant and Waynesburg are 2-0.
Whipkey was one of three players to ring up three touchdowns in Week Two.
Wtorkiewicz had touchdown runs of 64 and 6 yards and also brought back a fumble 5 yards for a TD in an 18-point week as the Vikings romped to a 47-14 victory at rival Yough.

That moved Scott into a three-way tie for fifth place with Connellsville’s Linkon Keller and California quarterback Brandon Meier.
Coach Beau Jackson’s Pioneers trailed Brownsville, 6-0, after the first quarter before erupting for 44 points in the second on their way to a 50-6 win at Kennedy Field.
