Frazier pulls out 1-stroke win over Seton LaSalle

Caden Biddle shot a 40 and Tyler Jerico and Garrett Seich each carded a 42 to help Frazier pull out a 212-213 victory over Seton LaSalle in a Section 8-2A boys golf match on Thursday at Linden Hall.

Rounding out the scoring for the Commodores were Logan Solomon and Emmett Erdely each with a 44.

Luca Piscitelli took medalist honors with a 37 for Seton LaSalle and Dom Jackson had a 39. Also scoring for the Rebels were Max Cherry (44) and Gabe Peretin and Lorenzo Casele (47).

THOMAS JEFFERSON 195, UNIONTOWN 225 – Nate Thatcher shot a 37 and Ty Hartman and Ryder Mulvihill each carded a 39 in the Jaguars’ Section 2-3A victory over the host Red Raiders at South Union Municipal Golf Course.

Jake Pritchard and AJ Wideman capped the scoring for TJ each with a 40.

Elim Martin was the top scorer for Uniontown with a 42 and was followed by Jackson Opar (44), Liam Glover and Karim Gilleland (46), and Mason Payton (47).

JEFFERSON-MORGAN 202, BENTWORTH 257 – Miles Sowden took medalist honors with a 2-over-par 37 in the Rockets’ Section 3-2A win over the Bearcats at Chippewa Golf Course.

Chase Litman, Trenton Sowden and Dominic Sowden each shot 41 for Jefferson-Morgan, which also got a 42 from Urijah Teasdale.

Cooper Piasecki (47) and David Miller (48) led Bentworth. They were followed by Wyatt McClain (53), Brayden Bozovich (54) and Nathan Thompson (55).

MOUNT PLEASANT 201, SOUTHMORELAND 204 – Hunter Snyder was medalist with a 35 as the Vikings were victorious in a tight Section 2-2A match with the Scotties at Donegal Highlands Golf Course.

Ezra Bowman carded a 39 for Mount Pleasant and was followed by Austyn Gross (41), Matthew Labuda (42) and Quinn Painter (44).

Brock Pritts paced Southmoreland with a 37 and was followed by Brendon Geho with a 41. Aiden Watkins, Nick Lubecky and Brady Grabiak all turned in a 42 to round out the scoring for the Scotties.

MCGUFFEY 184, WAYNESBURG CENTRAL 191 – Max Mezyk shot a 1-under-par 32 and Josh Rusmisel had a 34 in the Highlanders’ Section 3-2A win over the Raiders.

Landon Hatfield (37), Logan Hughes (38) and Noah Sibert (43) also figured in the scoring for McGuffey.

Jarett Tretinik and Cole Headlee were Waynesburg’s top golfers with a pair of 37s and Rykan Gustafson shot a 38. Also scoring for the Raiders were Carson Henry (39) and Lucas Slifko (40).

GIRLS GOLF

NORWIN 189, CONNELLSVILLE 205 – Mia Ratesic shot a 44 in the Lady Knights’ win over the Lady Falcons.

Addie Richter carded a 47 to lead Connellsville.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

VALLEY 3, BELLE VERNON 2 – Valley rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat the Lady Leopards in a Section 2-4A match.

Set scores were 26-24, 14-25, 21-25, 25-23 and 15-9.

Abby Nickolls led Belle Vernon (1-1) with 12 kills, 16 assists and five aces. Nazara Nickens chipped in with 21 digs.

TRINITY CHRISTIAN 3, GEIBEL CATHOLIC 1 – Trinity Christian took the first two sets on the way to a Section 2-A victory over the Lady Gators by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 17-25 and 25-17.

Neville Petrosky had 18 kills, Angela Li had 17 digs and Annabelle Kelly had 31 assists for Geibel, which also got eight kills from Nolace Petrosky.

JEFFERSON-MORGAN 3, MAPLETOWN 0 – The Lady Rockets soared past the visiting Lady Maples by scores of 25-3, 25-15 and 25-10.

Kelsey Vessels rang up eight kills and 15 digs for Jefferson-Morgan (1-1, 1-4), which also got four kills, seven assists and four aces from Mia Bertagnolli and five kills and three blocks from Bailey Cervone.

WAYNESBURG CENTRAL 3, BROWNSVILLE 0 – The Lady Raiders triumphed over the Lady Falcons by scores of 25-13, 25-13 and 25-10 in a Section 4-3A match.

Chatham Knight had 23 assists and four digs, Railey Bochna rang up 10 kills, nine digs and three aces, Emily Rafferty contributed eight kills, three aces and two digs and Harper Grimes chipped in nine kills, four aces and three digs for Waynesburg (2-0, 4-0) which also got five kills and two digs from Emma Blair and 15 digs from Lelia McCollum.

UNIONTOWN 3, ALBERT GALLATIN 0 – The Lady Raiders swept the Lady Colonials in a Section 2-5A match.

Danica Sterbutzel had 15 digs for AG, which also got four kills and two aces from Isabelle Usher and three kills from Gabby Penrose.

KISKI 3, CONNELLSVILLE 1 – The Lady Cavaliers beat the Lady Falcons in a Section 2-5A match by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 23-25 and 25-22.

WEST MIFFLIN 3, LAUREL HIGHLANDS 0 – The Lady Titans rolled past the Fillies in a Section 2-4A match by scores of 25-16, 25-9 and 25-17.
