Prexies overwhelm Trojans, 50-6

Jamarie Walker and Trenton Grooms each scored a pair of touchdowns as Washington jumped out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter in rolling to a 50-6 non-conference football victory at California on Friday night.
Travon Moye put coach Mike Bosnic’s unbeaten Prexies (3-0) ahead to stay with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Ameer Nelson in the first quarter.
Noah Patton kicked the extra point then also put up Washington’s next touchdown with an 80-yard interception return to make it 14-0.
Walker’s 7-yard TD run capped the scoring in the opening frame.
Walker’s scored again on an 8-yard run in the second quarter and the Prexies took a 28-0 lead into halftime.
Both of Grooms’ touchdowns came in the third quarter on runs of 13 and 5 yards to extend Washington’s advantage to 44-0.
The Trojans (1-2) averted the shutout when quarterback Brandon Meier scored on a 9-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The Prexies’ Jaylen Rubina finished up the scoring with a 7-yard TD run later in the fourth.
