Riverview jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 55-20 victory over visiting Frazier in a Class 1A Eastern Conference football game on Saturday afternoon.

Riverview returned a trio of interceptions for touchdowns in improving to 2-3 in the conference and 3-4 overall.

Derek Diamond accounted for all of the Commodores’ points. Frazier fell to 0-5 and 1-7.

The Raiders took a lead they would never relinquish on Connor Kmetz’s 26-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter followed by the first of Drew Hunter’s seven extra-point kicks.

Prince Govan came up with the hosts’ first pick-six with a 26-yard return and Dino Yario added a 7-yard touchdown run to make it 21-0 after one quarter.

The Commodores fought back to within seven points on second-quarter touchdown runs of 1 and 7 yards by Diamond, who also ran in a two-point conversion.

Riverview pushed the lead back out to 21 by tallying the final 14 points of the first half on Landon Johnson’s 13-yard run and Miles Dundan’s 35-yard interception return.

Riverview made it 42-14 when Kmetz tossed a 37-yard touchdown pass to Max Kraft in the third quarter.

The Raiders tacked on two more scores in the fourth quarter on Johnson’s 1-yard run and Rio Stotts’ 20-yard interception return for a 55-14 advantage.

Diamond capped the scoring with a 1-yard run.

Frazier closes the regular season with home games against Greensburg Central Catholic and Sprinigdale.
