Laurel Highlands’ Baker finishes 4th in RWB Classic

Laurel Highlands’ Isabella Baker broke her personal record (PR) while finishing fourth in the Class 2A girls division of the 23rd Annual Red, White & Blue Classic on Saturday at White Oak Park.
Baker, a senior, crossed the finish line in 19:33.7, which bested her time of 20:02.60 that she ran in the WPIAL championship meet last season.
Belle Vernon sophomore Brooklyn Steeber placed sixth in 19:38.4, which topped her time of 20:08.10 at last year’s district meet.
Uniontown sophomore Charley Murtha was 19th in 20:16.3.
Red Raider senior Ethan Syner reached the podium after placing 23rd in the Class 2A boys race with a time of 16:59.8.
Connellsville freshman Ellic Pritts finished just outside of the podium after placing 27th in the Class 3A boys race at 16:40.8.
Geibel Catholic senior Emma Larkin earned 10th place in the Class A girls race after running 22:25.4 around the 5K course on Friday, as all Class A races were held Friday.
California junior Carter Kent reached the podium as a top-25 finisher after crossing the finish line 21st in the Class A boys division with a time of 18:56.2.

Beth-Center 12, South Allegheny 0 — Nekoda Bundy found the back of the net five times in the Bulldogs’ non-section victory over the Gladiators on Saturday at Beth-Center Stadium.
Parker Amos recorded a brace and assisted on five tallies, and he combined Kaleb Amos for the clean sheet.
Wyatt Pash had two goals, and Hunter Bobbs had a goal and two assists. Kaleb Amos and Dominic Stopka also found the back of the net.
Beth-Center improved to 5-1 this season. The Bulldogs return to Section 2-1A play next Thursday when they host undefeated Bentworth (2-0, 5-0) at 7 p.m.
