Brownsville shared the love in an 11-0 non-section victory over Penn Hills in girls soccer action Wednesday evening at Redstone Field in Republic.
Gloria Kovscek was one of four Falcons (3-0-0) to record a brace, as the sophomore has scored eight goals in three matches in the young season.
Arianna Johnson scored twice and assisted on two tallies. Ellie Haddad found the back of the net twice and added a helper. Addy Brown had two tallies.
Riley Rohland had a goal and an assist, and sister Ava Rohland, who is Brownsville’s starting keeper, also scored. Rohland and Addison Burnsworth each played one half to split the clean sheet.
Maria Duda scored one of the Falcons’ 11 goals, and Avianna Hernandez assisted on two tallies. Tavan Ternistsky had one assist.

BELLE VERNON 2, SETON LASALLE 2 — The Leopards generated plenty of opportunities to score the game winner but weren’t able to find the back of the net for their third goal in a non-section draw against the Rebels at Merrick Athletic Field in Mount Lebanon.
Reagan Sobczak scored twice for Belle Vernon, as she had one tally in each half. Abby Russell assisted on the first goal and Payton Walsh had a helper on the second.
Rory Bastedo and Skylar Salay combined to make eight saves on 10 shots on target for Tracy Lovett’s club.
“We generated a lot of offense and had 25 shots,” Lovett said. “We had a goal called back, hit the post and had several opportunities go just a bit wide. We had lots of chances.”
Lovett was pleased with her team’s execution in moving the ball into the final third.
“We were able to build the play from the back up through the mid and into their end,” Lovett said. “We just could not find the back of the net for the game winner.”
Lovett was pleased with the effort Russell, Sobczak and Courtney Martin put forth.
“Abby Russell made so much happen on the outside and never let up,” Lovett said. “Raegan Sobczak generated a lot of chances and Courtney Martin played lights out on the outside, as did all of our defenders and both keepers. We all played really well. I saw a lot of good things and some things we need to work on, too.”
The Leopards (0-0-1) host Beth-Center (1-1-1) on Saturday at James Weir Stadium.

Madelyn Johns and Brooke Leonetti also found the back of the net, as the defending WPIAL Class A champions improved to 3-0-0 this season. Bentworth had a 7-0 lead at the half.
“Bella (Moyer) and Megan (Keturakis) combined a few times to go up early,” Bentworth coach Tyler Hamstra said. “I’m proud of the quick start and of our young girls. We were able to get everyone an average of about 60 minutes of play tonight. That is important for the short and long term.
“Brooke Leonetti had a great game for her first career start. She really got the ball into her attackers and was rewarded with a goal of her own. Our sophomores and other players who are getting more minutes and enhanced roles this year are really making me proud. It all makes our seniors’ jobs easier.”
