Laurel Highlands and Uniontown split a section soccer doubleheader on Tuesday night at Bill Power Stadium with the girls from Laurel Highlands winning the opener and the Uniontown boys closing the nightcap with a victory.

The Mustangs built up a 4-0 lead in the first half of the girls match in Section 3-3A play before the Red Raiders scored.

Laurel Highlands (1-1-0, 1-4-0) added a fifth goal before Uniontown (0-2-0, 1-3-1) added its second goal just before halftime on a penalty kick.

The Mustangs outscored the home team, 2-0, in the second half for a 5-2 triumph.

Camryn McClean scored two goals for the visitors. Teammates Gracie Cicci, Ella Doman, Kenna Frey, Jordan Rates and Ava Ruvalcaba also found the back of the net.

Doman, Rates, Camilla Frantz and Lola Mitchell assisted on four of Laurel Highlands’ goals.

Addison Stroko and Brooke Smith split time at keeper. Stroko made three saves in the first half and Smith two in the second 40 minutes.

Sadie Hostetler scored both goals for the Red Raiders.

Braylon Woods’ four goals was enough offense to push Uniontown past Laurel Highlands in Game 2.

The Red Raiders (2-0-0, 4-1-0) have struggled in recent years against the Mustangs, but coach Jamie Holland’s team had a strong showing in the 5-2 victory in Section 2-3A play.

Ty Harvey scored the other goal for the home team. Josh Paris had three assists.

Noah Holland made 10 saves for Uniontown.
