Fayette County man accused of soliciting naked images of 13-year-old

A Fayette County man is accused of soliciting naked photos and videos from an underage girl and exchanging hundreds of explicit texts with her. The 13-year-old girl told police she had been communicating with Nicholas Bane, 19, of Merrittstown, on Snapchat for about two years. The conversations were found by the girl’s guardian in April as she was going through the girl’s phone, according to the criminal complaint. Police reviewed more than 700 messages between the two, most sexual in nature, court documents stated. In an interview with police in May, Bane said he had thought the girl was 14. Warming centers, shelters offer refuge from cold snap

The Arctic climate of this week will continue through the weekend, sending many people to look for emergency shelter or just a place to warm up. A cold-weather advisory was in effect for the region through 11 a.m. Saturday, with wind chills expected to dip as low as -20. Charleroi police charged a man this week after an investigation turned up AI-generated images of nude juveniles on his computer. Edward Charles Reid Jr., 61, of Charleroi, faces felony charges of possession of child sexual abuse material, intercepting communications, disclosing intercepted communications and misdemeanors of harassment and unlawful dissemination of an intimate image. According to the criminal complaint, the investigation into Reid began in August after a woman reported that Reid recorded her without her consent and posted pictures on the internet. Former youth football director accused of embezzling $235K from league

The former director of a youth football league in the Pittsburgh area is accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands from the organization over the past several years. William Spencer of Canton Township was arrested Friday after the state Attorney General’s office said he funneled about $235,000 from the Western Pennsylvania Youth Football League into his bank account from 2020 until he resigned from his leadership position early last year.
