The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the parking lot of St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville from 11 a.m. through noon. Families must be registered with Fayette County Community Action Agency in order to receive food. Those wishing to sign up on the distribution day will need to bring photo identification, the date of birth of each person in the household, and verification of address.
The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive Thursday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Social Hall/St. Peter and St. Cecilia Church Parish Center, 118 Church Street, Brownsville. Appointments can be scheduled at 1-800-733-2767.
There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m.
From noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, there will be a Fall Craft and Sip at Calvin United Presbyterian Church, 307 Spring St., Brownsville. Help is needed with unloading the food bank truck at First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville on Friday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m. The food bank is on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
St. Cecilia Church is holding a “Bag and Bling” event at the Brownsville Sons of Italy, 16 Race St., Brownsville, on Sunday, Oct 26, at noon. To purchase a ticket, contact the parish office at 724-785-7781. Cost is $25.
There will be a hymn sing held at Republic Christian Church, Route 166, Republic on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. It is open to the public.
The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting socks and gloves to fit school age children and Slim Jims/meat sticks in October. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church. At the end of the collection period, items will be packed at Brownsville First Christian Church, 512 Second St., Brownsville, on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m.
