The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association’s Food For Falcons food program is collecting Pop-Tarts and ravioli bowls in April. There will be a donation area in each participating BAMA church.
The Masontown Community Kitchen will be open on Tuesday, April 7, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be pasta with meat sauce, salads, homemade desserts and bread. Meals are free, and served at First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Church Ave., Masontown. Donations are accepted and help to pay for future meals. Fresh Fire Church will hold a food giveaway at the old Sears store at the Uniontown Mall from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 9. Do not line up before 9 a.m.
An eat-in or take-out spaghetti dinner on Sunday, April 12, will benefit the Dawson Vanderbilt Lions. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brownfield Community Center, 291 Banning Road, Dawson. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for children 6-12, free for 5 and under.
The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association meeting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, is at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock.
The St. Vincent de Paul-sponsored food bank will be held on Wednesday, April 15, in the parking lot of the St. Mary’s Social Hall, 118 Church St., Brownsville from 11 a.m. to noon. Families wishing to sign up on the distribution day will need to bring photo identification, the date of birth of each person in the household, and verification of address.
The spring concert at PennWest California is 3OH!3 and Hot Chelle Rae. The performance is Thursday, April 16, at the convention center on the campus. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 8 p.m. It is open to the public and tickets are available at PennWest University ticket portal.
There will be a food bank at Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, 533 Royal Road, Smock, on Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m.
Allison Christian Church, 452 East Ave., Allison, is holding a youth group meeting on Sunday, April 19, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Young people of any age and from any denomination are welcome.
The annual Mt. Summit Challenge Run/Walk is Sunday, April 26, at 9 a.m. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. at the Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department. There will be a post-race party for all paid entries at the Summit Hotel, including the awards ceremony. A race application can be printed from the Fayette Striders Running Club.
Pleasant View Presbyterian Church in Smock is sponsoring “Loads of Love” at Mod Laundromat, 503 Union St., Brownsville on Sunday, April 26 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those who need help paying for laundry costs are invited to do their laundry at this time.
Penn Highlands Mon Valley offers an Ostomy Support Group the third Thursday of every month from 2 to 3 p.m. The next meeting is Thursday, April 16. The group meets in the Anthony M. Malden Drive, Coal Center, is holding the spring fundraiser “Bling, Bags, Blooms & Bites,” on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event combines a gourmet dining experience with an exclusive shopping opportunity. Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) invites teens to participate in its ongoing Crafty Conversations program, held on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peter J.
