Annual Pittsburgh airport auction returns as online event
Online bidding has started for Pittsburgh International Airport’s annual auction.
Thousands of items are available, including used airport maintenance equipment, decommissioned vehicles, jewelry, electronics, and more.
To view the lots available and to make a bid, visit https://bid.joerpyleauctions.com/ui/auctions/149124. Bidding ends on Monday beginning at 5 p.m., with one to three lots closing every three minutes. All sales are final. There will be no exchanges or refunds. This year’s auction will be online only.
Over 1,000 items will be auctioned – including a Cartier women’s watch, Louis Vuitton hat, PlayStation 4, Toca hand percussion drum, jewelry, sunglasses, and more. The public can view these items in person on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Joe R. Pyle warehouse at 1490 W. Chestnut St. in Washington.
The available used equipment includes snowplows, a hook truck, a sweeper, pickup trucks, and Ford Explorer Interceptors. Abandoned vehicles are not part of this year’s auction. The public can view these items in person on Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pittsburgh International Airport’s Heavy Equipment Building on Cargo Road, off of Business I-376.
This online auction uses a “soft close” format, which means that bidding will continue as long as bids are being placed. This offers a more natural online auction experience and encourages bidders to watch and participate as the lots close in rapid succession.
There will be a 15% buyer’s premium on all purchases. The airport and Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Realty Service accept cash, credit cards, or checks payable to Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Realty Service. Payment, inclusive of any taxes and fees for items purchased, must be made in full before items are picked up.
