The Whiskey Rebellion Festival returned to downtown Washington Friday and Saturday, bringing food, music, historical reenactors and more. It all commemorates the 1790s Whiskey Rebellion, which saw farmers in western Pennsylvania rising up against the federal government over an excise tax on spirits to help pay for debts incurred by the Revolutionary War.
