A Dawson woman was arrested after being accused of assaulting her daughter and failing to seek medical attention after the girl drank bleach.

Lisa Miller, 60, is charged with endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person.

State police in Belle Vernon received a request from Preston County 911 in West Virginia Monday afternoon for a welfare check on the 8-year-old girl, who allegedly drank bleach while at the Big Bear Lake Camplands in Bruceton Mills, W.Va, the complaint said.

Police said Miller was taking the girl back to Lower Tyrone Township. When troopers pulled Miller over in Perry Township, they found the girl “unresponsive, actively seizing and bound by multiple seat belts,” the complaint said.

Miller’s juvenile son told police his sister had ingested bleach early Monday morning, and later threw up blood.

He told police he had told Miller to take the girl to the hospital. Instead, Miller told the son she was taking the daughter home to “lock her up,” the complaint said.

He said the girl had also suffered multiple bruises, which came as a result of Miller hitting her, the complaint said.

The girl was transported to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital, court documents state.

Judge Nathan Henning denied bail for Miller Tuesday on the grounds of posing a potential threat to the girl and other children in the house. Miller is lodged in the Fayette County jail.

Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 28.
