The Center For Coalfield Justice will host a program, Shale Gas Fracking and Public Health 101 - The People's Cancer Incidence Screening Tool, on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the center's office at 69 E. Beau St. in Washington. The program will feature guest speaker Dr. Lauren Minsky, creator of the People's Cancer Incidence Screening Tool, which calculates average annual cancer incidence rates for Pennsylvania's cities, towns and boroughs from 2002 to 2021. Special needs children and adults got a day-long look at the experiences of law enforcement and other first responders at the first Sunny Day Camp in Greene County Thursday. About 30 people attended the day-long camp, put on by the Pennsylvania State Police. The program is celebrating its 10th anniversary statewide. One person was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday morning in Fayette County. Pennsylvania State Police troopers were called out at 6:14 a.m. to the site of a crash in Franklin Township at the intersection of Cooper Road and Bolden Road. George Wyland, Jr., 45, of New Salem, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Fayette County Coroner’s Office said Friday. The crash remains under investigation.
