Man arrested in Greene County stabbing

A Waynesburg man allegedly used a buck knife to stab another man at a Greene County home. Waynesburg police found Brian Willard with uncontrolled bleeding to the left side of his stomach after Christopher Noble, 44, stabbed him on Thursday, court paperwork alleged. An officer waited with Willard until an ambulance arrived to take him to UPMC Greene. His condition was not immediately available. According to court paperwork, Noble stabbed Willard at a mobile home at 260 W. High St. around 10 p.m. Thursday. Masontown council to vote on rescinding police layoffs

Days after it voted to lay off police department staff, the Masontown Borough Council is planning to undo the move. The council has scheduled a special Saturday night meeting where it will vote on a resolution to recall all officers it let go Monday. In that 6-1 vote, the council approved layoffs of the borough’s police chief, two full-time officers and four part-time officers, citing a desire to lower the borough’s property taxes. Nearly all of those revenues go toward the police department. South Union Township man charged in stolen sports cards scheme

State police arrested a Fayette County man accused of being at the center of a string of thefts involving sports trading cards. Ryan Michael Rates, 44, of South Union Township, faces felony charges of corrupt organizations, organized retail theft and receiving stolen property. According to the criminal complaint, at about noon Dec. 23, police were called to the Target at 120 Matthew Drive in South Union after more than $1,200 in trading cards were stolen. Charging documents state that similar thefts had occurred at multiple stores between Dec. 18 and 3. Richeyville man accused of child porn possession

State police arrested a Richeyville man Wednesday on charges of possession of child sexual abuse material. Dustin Kenyan McMasters, 20, faces 20 felony charges of sexual abuse of children - possession of child sexual abuse material and disseminating photos/videos of child sex acts, and four additonal felonies of criminal use of a communication facility. According to the criminal complaint, in May 2025, messaging app Kik reported that an account belonging to McMasters had uploaded multiple files depicting the sexual abuse of children.
