Masontown woman accused of assaulting infant child

A Masontown woman is charged with an alleged assault that left bruises and fingernail marks on her 1-year-old child. After taking a polygraph test, Arayiah Harris, 19, confessed to assaulting her child in her home, according to her criminal complaint. She told police her child had been crying throughout the night when she grabbed the baby, slammed them into the pack-and-play next to her bed, and then held them down with excessive force. Court documents said the injuries had been reported as mandated by law by Hopwood Day Care. Harris was an employee at the time of the incident and had dropped off her child the next morning. Charleroi police arrest man accused of assault

Charleroi Regional Police Department arrested a man over the weekend after he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Isaiah James Lee Banks, 29, of New Kensington, faces a felony charge of strangulation, and misdemeanors of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children. According to the criminal complaint, on Friday Banks' girlfriend reported to police that Banks had punched and choked her while she was holding their child. Connellsville man charged with raping child

A Connellsville man faces nearly 40 felony counts after he allegedly sexually assaulted a 7-year-old girl on several occasions. Joshua Melke, 31, was reported by the girl’s mother after she came home to find Melke lying on top of her child, the complaint said.
