Connellsville teen charged with attempted homicide

A Connellsville teenager is facing criminal charges after he was accused of shooting at a man through a window Sunday night. Noah Dove, 17, is charged with attempted homicide, attempted aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, receiving stolen property, carrying firearms without a license, possession of a firearm by a minor and reckless endangerment. Police said shortly before 11:30 p.m., they responded to a report of a shot fired into the apartment window of Patrick Scheller on West Crawford Avenue in Connellsville. Greene County miner killed by falling rock

A Greene County man was killed by falling rock in a mine accident Tuesday night. Zachary Wolfe, 34, of Rices Landing, died in the 10 p.m. accident at the Bailey Mine in Aleppo Township, the Greene County Coroner’s Office said in a statement Wednesday. An investigation by Pennsylvania State Police determined Wolfe was fatally injured after being crushed by rock. Wolfe was pronounced dead at 11:39 p.m., the coroner’s office said. Greene County Emergency Management Agency Director Richard Policz said EMS services and the New Freeport Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.
