Fayette County Commissioner Vince Vicites has been nominated to a committee seat on the National Association of Counties. Southwestern PA Water Authority will have the water shut off on Thursday, Aug. 13, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sugar Run Road from the Cabin Road intersection back toward town to the Dodahe Trailer Park in Greene County. It will also include: Dulaney Lane, Shadow Oaks Road, Champion Drive, Orchard Road and a small section of Porter Street. A child was flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital after nearly drowning at a Fayette County amusement park Saturday afternoon. The 8-year-old had to be rescued from a water attraction at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park along Route 381 in Springfield Township about 1:30 p.m., according to a Fayette County 911 dispatch supervisor.
